PG&E Wildfire Program: East Bay Meetings To Answer Your Questions

Who will pay for food that spoils in the refrigerator or freezer when the power is cut? What about air conditioning for vulnerable seniors?

WALNUT CREEK, CA —Some local residents are concerned about the possibility of PG&E shutting down the electric grid when conditions are ripe for wildfires. What about vulnerable seniors stuck without air conditioning? Who will pay for food that spoils in the refrigerator or freezer when the power is cut?

Residents can get their questions answered directly by the utility company at two upcoming meetings in the East Bay, in Walnut Creek and Oakland.

The drop-in events will have information about the PG&E Community Wildfire Safety Program and information about wildfire safety and emergency preparedness.

PG&E representatives will be available to answer questions and hear community feedback.
The schedule of open houses, all scheduled for 6 to 8 p.m.:

  • Monday in the Junior Ballroom at the Oakland Marriott City Center, 1001 Broadway in Oakland
  • Thursday in the Camellia Room of the Gardens at Heather Farms, 1540 Marchbanks Drive in Walnut Creek

No preregistration is needed to attend the meetings.
