
WALNUT CREEK, CA — If you head down Newell Avenue in Walnut Creek on Thursday, don't be surprised if you see police officers on the roof of Dunkin'. It's all for a good cause!
Police officers in several area cities are raising money for Special Olympics Northern California.
“Special Olympics is thrilled that Northern California is coming together to support Do Good with Dunkin’ for the second year,” said Scott Souza, senior manager of fundraising and community partnerships for Special Olympics Northern California. “We’re excited to outpace last year’s total raised and showcase the dedication and determination of our Northern California Special Olympics Athletes.”

Here's how it works: officers will be on rooftops on Thursday, Sept. 12 from 6 to 10 a.m. to bring attention to the Do Good with Dunkin’ event. Customers who donate any amount to the cause will receive a coupon for a free medium hot or iced coffee.
Last year's event raised more than $10,000.
