Readers Choose Morucci's For Sandwich Savvy

Morucci's celebrated its victory in the Patch poll for the best sandwich spot in Walnut Creek by doing its thing — serving a lunchtime crowd in the hundreds. A couple dozen more tomato mozzarella sandwiches, some with prosciutto, some with turkey.

Customers were already lined up a dozen deep at 11:20 a.m. Friday at in Saranap.

"The price is right maybe and the food's good and the location's very good and the parking is decent,"said Rob Fambrini, who has owned Morucci's for about 15 years.
