Residents, Dog Escape Walnut Creek House Fire

The fire was reported after midnight near Ygnacio Valley Road.

WALNUT CREEK, CA — Two people and a dog were displaced after fire seriously damaged a single-family home in Walnut Creek early Wednesday morning, according to Contra Costa County Fire Protection District officials.

The blaze was first reported at 12:20 a.m. in the 300 block of Wimbledon Road, according to Fire Capt. Tracie Dutter. Fire crews arrived approximately five minutes after the initial call to find heavy fire, but were able to have the fire under control at 12:47 a.m.
