Sat. July 9th. Public Astronomy Program On Mt Diablo

Please join Mt. Diablo Astronomical Society for the July 9th. astronomy program in the Lower Summit Parking Lot of Mt. Diablo State Park.

The program starts at 7:30pm (enter the park at least 45 minutes earlier) until 11:00pm. Although there is no fee for this program there is a $10 park entrance fee.

This month's program is “Are you Solar Powered ?”. Discover the real power of the Sun. Arrive at 7:30 to safely view the Sun through telescopes. View planets, moons and stars after the sun sets.

Excitement for the whole family! Participate in hands-on astronomy activities followed by supervised observing through the many different telescopes of MDAS members. See stars, nebulae, galaxies, clusters, the moon and planets through member telescopes. Bring kids, binoculars, warm clothes (temperature can drop), snacks, water. No need for a flashlight but if you must bring one cover it in red plastic. Escorted exit several times during the evening through Northgate entrance.

Astronomy program is weather dependent including high fire danger.
