Sat. June 11th. Public Astronomy Program On Mt Diablo

Please join Mt. Diablo Astronomical Society for the June 11th. astronomy program in the Lower Summit Parking Lot of Mt. Diablo State Park.

The program starts at 7:30pm (enter the park at least 45 minutes earlier) until 11:00pm. Although there is no fee for this program there is a $10 park entrance fee.

This month's program is “We Are Stardust” : Where does the iron in your blood come from? The calcium in the bones of the coyote? The gold in California mines? "We are stardust" is explained.

Excitement for the whole family! Participate in hands-on astronomy activities followed by supervised observing through the many different telescopes of MDAS members. See stars, nebulae, galaxies, clusters, the moon and planets through member telescopes. Bring kids, binoculars, warm clothes (temperature can drop), snacks, water. No need for a flashlight but if you must bring one cover it in red plastic. Escorted exit several times during the evening through Northgate entrance.

Astronomy program is weather dependent including high fire danger.
