Sig Alert Lifted After Wheel Flies Off Big Rig On I-680
The wheel landed on an off ramp.

WALNUT CREEK, CA — A sig alert in Walnut Creek has been lifted, with all lanes open. Shortly after noon, a wheel flew off a big rig that was driving southbound on Interstate Highway 680 in Walnut Creek. The wheel landed on the off ramp to South Main Street. Without the wheel, the big rig came to a screeching halt in one of the middle lanes.
At one point, the three right lanes were all blocked.
No injuries have been reported.

The crash was reported at 12:17 p.m. and cleared at 3:11, according to the CHP log.
