Some Local Schools Closed Again Friday
Air quality remains atrocious because of North Bay fires.

WALNUT CREEK, CA — Local students and staff will get an extra day off from school.
West Contra Costa Unified School District schools will remain closed Friday because of poor air quality from the North Bay fires, district officials said today.
All athletic events, practices and other school activities related to the district are also canceled through the weekend. District offices and departments will remain open.

The district announced on Wednesday that it would close today.

At least 10 other school districts in Contra Costa County have closed campuses this week because of concerns over air quality from the fires.
