Spend A Saturday Hiking With The Mayor Of Walnut Creek!

The upcoming walk is part of Bob Simmons' Second Saturday Walks program.

From the city of Walnut Creek:

Join Mayor Bob Simmons on Saturday, May 9 for a 4.5 mile walk that goes under Ygnacio Valley Road not once, but twice! The walk is part of Simmons’ Second Saturday Walks program, which offers free walks each month through October.

The walk will depart at 9 a.m. sharp from the parking lot on the west side of Valley Vista across from the Boundary Oak Golf Course.

Highlights include hiking in the Lime Ridge Open Space and stopping at Bayberry Pond, one of the habitat restoration sites of the Walnut Creek Open Space Foundation. The walk will conclude at about 11:30 a.m.

Part of the walk is on pavement, and part is on dirt trails, so good footwear is important. Walkers are encouraged to bring water.
