Suspect Arrested In Highway 24 Shooting: Report

WALNUT CREEK, CA — Police arrested a suspect in an afternoon shooting on Highway 24 that shut down traffic.
The shooting was reported at about 3:45 p.m. on the eastbound direction of the freeway, west of Old Tunnel Road, according to reports.
CHP received a report that gunfire coming from a passing vehicle hit another.

CHP told reporters the suspect vehicle crashed after 4 p.m. in the center divide of Interstate 680 near Olympic Boulevard in the Walnut Creek area. Police then detained the suspect.
The shooting investigation and crash significantly shut down traffic in the area, with all lanes of Highway 24 at Highway 13 temporarily closed.
