Teen Arrested In Walnut Creek Shooting: Police
A 17-year-old Concord resident has been arrested on suspicion of attempted homicide in connection with a shooting, Walnut Creek police said.
WALNUT CREEK, CA — A 17-year-old Concord resident was in custody Monday at the Contra Costa County Juvenile Hall facing charges of attempted homicide in connection with a shooting Saturday in Walnut Creek, police said.
The Walnut Creek Police Department received multiple 911 calls at 11:50 p.m. Saturday about gunshots that were heard in the 2700 block of Hutchinson Court. A gunshot victim had also just arrived at John Muir Hospital, police said.
Officers determined the victim at the hospital was involved in the shooting and suffered non-life-threatening injuries.

An investigation was launched but a suspect in the shooting was not immediately located Saturday night. Police determined there was no threat to the community as it was an isolated incident between the involved parties.
On Sunday, Walnut Creek police detectives, with the help of the Contra Costa Central County SWAT team, served an arrest warrant at the juvenile suspect’s residence in Concord.

"This is an active investigation involving a juvenile suspect and we are unable to release any further details about the suspect or investigation at this time," Walnut Creek police Lt. Holley Connors said Monday in a news release. "WCPD Detectives will be presenting this case to the Contra Costa County District Attorney’s Office for review."
