Created in 2011, the WCCVB works to promote and market Walnut Creek venues, attractions, hotels, meeting space, events, and more to companies and residents in a 250-mile radius. Since then, the City of Walnut Creek has benefitted from over $6 million in Transient Occupant Taxes (TOT), the fee levied by the City on overnight guests in Walnut Creek’s hotels and motels. Those revenues have grown over 43% since 2011, according to the organization.
The Renaissance ClubSport Walnut Creek Hotel and Embassy Suites join the Walnut Creek Marriott, Holiday Inn Express, Motel 6, and Mt. Diablo Inn. As WCCVB members, the hotels pay a fee of $2 per room per night for hotels with 100 or more sleeping rooms and $1.50 for hotels with fewer than 100 rooms.
