Walnut Creek Apartment Fire Extinguished

It happened in the Rossmoor neighborhood early Tuesday morning.

WALNUT CREEK, CA — Contra Costa County Fire Protection District crews quickly extinguished a fire at an two-story apartment building in Walnut Creek's Rossmoor neighborhood early Tuesday morning, according to fire officials.

Firefighters arrived not after the first call at 1:17 a.m. at the residence located in the 1100 block of Oakmont Drive in the bottom floor of the apartment, according to Fire Captain Steve Aubert.

Fire crews found a fire that was in a remodeled area of the residence. The blaze was extinguished at 1:37 a.m. and the cause is under investigation.

None of the residents of the home were displaced, as the damage was limited to a few hundred dollars, according to Aubert.
