Walnut Creek City Manager Resigns
Ken Nordhoff is taking a job in private industry.

WALNUT CREEK, CA —Walnut Creek City Manager Ken Nordhoff has resigned to become a Principal with HdL Companies. His resignation is effective January 2, 2017.
Nordhoff has been Walnut Creek’s City Manager since December 2010. “Public service is a noble and rewarding profession, and I have been privileged to serve this community and lead our organization as City Manager over the past six years,” said Nordhoff.
“During this time, there has been real progress on a wide variety of City Council policies and programs that have favorably impacted our residents, businesses and visitors, Nordhoff continued. "Our City is safe and in high demand by families and businesses. Our varied program offerings are enjoyed by all ages. The incredible assets in our City are well cared for."

"Walnut Creek is fiscally sound due to strategic decisions that have improved recent financial performance and budget outlooks," Nordhoff concluded. "Morale is high and our community benefits from committed and compassionate employees.”
Mayor Loella Haskew said the City Council will determine the next steps for Nordhoff’s replacement. “Ken Nordhoff guided our city successfully through the country’s great recession and has led the City to a place where financial picture is strong and the City is prepared for the future” said Mayor Loella Haskew.

“He gently and persistently championed the ever changing needs of our community. He put together an A-team of executive leaders and staff that will carry on his legacy of dedication," the mayor said. "I am personally sad that we are losing one of the best.”
HdL Companies provides fiscal management and economic development services to public agencies.
