Walnut Creek Employer Receives Prestigious Honor

WALNUT CREEK, CA — CSAA Insurance Group, a AAA Insurer, has been named one of the 50 most community-minded companies in America by Points of Light, the world’s largest organization dedicated to volunteer service. This is the second year in a row that CSAA Insurance Group has been honored with the distinguished Civic 50 award, and it is the only property and casualty insurer to earn this recognition.

Other companies on the list include corporate giants such as Ford, Intel and UPS.

The award recognizes the 50 most community-minded companies in the nation for their commitment to responsible corporate citizenship and for improving the quality of life in the communities where they do business.

“CSAA Insurance Group is honored to once again be named to the Points of Light Civic 50,” said Paula Downey, president and CEO of CSAA Insurance Group. “Our community involvement reflects the values and culture of CSAA Insurance Group, and is an integral part of our mission to serve AAA members.”

Last year, 98 percent of CSAA Insurance Group employees volunteered, which is the highest volunteer participation rate in the country for any company with more than 3,000 employees. Each year, CSAA Insurance Group employees receive 24 hours of paid company time off to volunteer at community service events including cleanup days at national parks, volunteering at local food banks, crayon sorting with The Crayon Initiative, and more.

Through the Community Safety Foundation, funded by CSAA Insurance Group, employees are also eligible for a matching gift program, a “dollars for doers” program and donations to nonprofit organizations in recognition of an employee’s board service.
