Walnut Creek Man Seriously Injured In Fatal Crash

A Concord man was killed Saturday after reportedly driving recklessly and crashing into the Walnut Creek man, CHP said.

WALNUT CREEK, CA — A Walnut Creek man was seriously injured in a potentially alcohol-related crash Saturday afternoon, just south of the San Ramon city limits.

He was taken to Kaiser Permanente Walnut Creek Medical Center, according to a news release from the California Highway Patrol Castro Valley unit. His injuries were not life-threatening.

Liupua M. Talivaa, 36, of Concord was pronounced dead at the scene.

The crash occurred along Crow Canyon Road, south of Bollinger Canyon Road.

Witnesses say they saw Talivaa driving recklessly and cross over the double yellow lines into the southbound lanes of Crow Canyon, where he struck the Walnut Creek driver head-on, according to CHP.
