Walnut Creek Police Officer Honored

Officer Chris Solorio was chosen because he exemplifies "the future of the law enforcement profession."

WALNUT CREEK, CA —Walnut Creek Police Officer Chris Solorio has been chosen to receive a prestigious award from the California Peace Officers Association.

He's been selected for a "12 Under 12" award, which recognizes one individual with 12 years of service or less from each of the statewide Association's 12 regions.

According to the Association, this new award highlights individuals"that exemplify the future of the law enforcement profession."

The City Manager's office reports, "Officer Solorio began his law enforcement career with the Houston Police Department, and since arriving in Walnut Creek has served on the SWAT team, K9 Team, Bomb Team and more. He obtained his bachelor's degree while also holding down the full time police position, and is now working on his MBA."

Solorio was chosen over all other nominees in Alameda, Contra Costa, San Francisco, San Mateo, and Santa Clara Counties.
