Walnut Festival Parking Impacts At Heather Farm Park This Weekend

The 85th Walnut Festival is coming to Heather Farm Park Thursday, September 23 through Sunday, September 26, 2021.

There will be many adjustments to parking, park/playground access, ball field lighting and programming during the festival dates. Please see a list of information below on how this may affect your visit or if you are a neighboring resident. Please go to: thewalnutfestival.org for festival and ticket information.

Playground access:

Limited playground access on Wednesday, September 22. The playground and fencing will close at noon.

Playground closed Thursday, September 23 – Sunday, September 26 with pay access only during the festival hours.

Parking within Heather Farm Park:

Swim Center/Playground Parking Lot will close (NO PUBLIC ACCESS) on the following dates and times:
Thursday, September 23 & Friday, September 24 at 4:00pm
Saturday, September 25 & Sunday, September 26 at 11:00am
*Any car remaining in the lot after the times above will be ticketed/towed at owner’s expense.

All other parking lots will become PAY TO PARK during Walnut Festival Hours (including: the Dog Park lot, Equestrian Center lot, Community Center lot, Ball fields 2-6 parking lots) starting:
Thursday, September 23 & Friday, September 24 at 5:00pm
Saturday, September 25 & Sunday, September 26 at NOON

Please adhere to NO Parking signage along Heather Drive on the following dates:
Thursday, September 23 & Friday, September 24
Saturday, September 25 & Sunday, September 26
*Any car parked along Heather Drive after the times indicated on the posted signage will be ticketed/towed at owner’s expense.

Ball Field Over Head Lighting:

For the safety of festival participants, crew workers and volunteers the overhead lighting for all ballfield’s (1 – 6) within Heather Farm Park will be on through the following times each day:

Wednesday, September 22 until 10:00p.m.
Thursday, September 23 until 11:30pm
Friday, September 24 until 12:30a.m.
Saturday, September 25 until 12:30a.m.
Sunday, September 26 until 11:00p.m.

Clarke Swim Center altered schedule:

Thursday, September 23 close at 4:00p.m. No evening Lap Swim.
Saturday, September 24, Lap Swim Hours 6:00a.m. – 11:00a.m.
Sunday, September 25, Lap swim Hours 6:00a.m. – 11:00a.m.

PARKING: Pool/Playground parking lot closes at 4:00pm on Thursday, 11:00am on Saturday and Sunday. Cars remaining in the lot after closing hours will be ticketed/towed. Adhere to posted NO PARKING signs along Heather Drive.
