Walnut Creek Silver Alert: Elderly Woman Missing From Downtown Area

The 74 year old speaks Russian and was reported last seen on Friday at her apartment.

Police are asking for help locating a 74-year-old woman last seen in Walnut Creek Friday, Walnut Creek police said today.

Valentina Matyushina was last seen at 2:40 p.m. when she walked away from her apartment in downtown Walnut Creek, police said.

Matyushina has health challenges and may become disoriented, according to police. She speaks only Russian.

Police are describing Matyushina as a white woman with gray and brown hair and blue eyes. She is 4 feet 11 inches tall and weighs 180 pounds.

When she left her apartment, she was wearing a gray long sleeve shirt, brown slippers and dark athletic-type pants with three white stripes on each pant leg, police said. She was carrying a red fleece and a pink, black and white floral robe, according to police.
