Walnut Crew Emergency Crews Respond To Brush Fire

One person was hospitalized for smoke inhalation Friday afternoon after a grass fire broke out between homes on Homestead Avenue.

WALNUT CREEK, CA – One person was hospitalized for smoke inhalation Friday afternoon after a grass fire broke out between homes on Homestead Avenue in Walnut Creek, fire officials said.

The two-alarm blaze was reported about 1:30 p.m. in the 1300 block of Homestead Avenue, according to the Contra Costa County Fire Protection District.

One person who lives at a house on Homestead was taken to the hospital for smoke inhalation. No other injuries were reported.

PG&E crews were called to the scene due to downed power lines, officials said.

The fire was contained about 2:15 p.m., officials said. The blaze did not damage any homes.
