WATCH: First Teaser Trailer for Next 'Star Wars' Film

Friday was the day that Star Wars fans all over the world were anxiously awaiting.

It is the day of the launch of the first teaser trailer for the highly anticipated first film in the third trilogy. This trilogy will feature Episodes VII, VIII and IX.

Little is known about the story that will be told in Episode VII. Director J.J. Abrams is famous for keeping major plot lines for his movies under lock and key.

What is known is that Harrison Ford (Han Solo), Mark Hamill (Luke Skywalker) and Carrie Fisher (Princess Lea) are in this film. In what capacity is not yet known.

This is the first of the three movies planned by the Walt Disney Company since the acquisition of the franchise from Lucas in 2012.
