WATCH: NEW Trailer For Walnut Creek International Short Film Fest

The 3rd Annual Walnut Creek International short Film Festival (WCIsFF) has released a new festival trailer, inspiring film buffs to experience a stellar lineup of over 100 short films from more than 30 countries across the globe, shown over three days at multiple venues. The films are organized into more than 15 screening blocks from life-affirming to foreign and animated shorts, to family-friendly and beyond.

This year’s fest themed “Short Films, Big Ideas” welcomes an unprecedented number of filmmakers and expands its reach with more programming and screenings at both the Lesher Center for the Arts and Century Walnut Creek Theatres.

As Walnut Creek’s only film festival dedicated to short films, WCIsFF showcases brilliant filmmaking in the short form – from 90 seconds to 25 minutes – with the exploration of intriguing, thought-provoking and innovative films. Audiences are invited to select their ‘Best of the Fest’ as winners will be presented at the closing night events on Sunday evening.

Friday, May 1 – Opening Night!

Noon to 10 p.m. – Mixed screenings including Festival Rewind, a look at audience favorites from the 2014 Festival, World Cinema, Documentaries and more

· 7 p.m. Opening Night Red Carpet Premiere: Kick off this year’s festival in style with select opening night screenings

· 9:30 p.m. “Darker Side of Funny” offers humorous films with a dark edge

Saturday, May 2:

11 a.m. to 11 p.m. – Mixed Screening Blocks, All-day California Filmmaker Showcase, Meet the Filmmakers

Sunday, May 3:

11 a.m. to 11 p.m. – Mixed Screening Blocks throughout the day

· 7 p.m. Closing Night Events begin with ‘Best of the Fest’ announcements followed by screenings
