WCPD: Flaunting False Franklins At 2 Stores

Wallet on gas pump. A man called Walnut Creek police at 12:47 a.m. to say that he thinks he left his wallet on top of a gas pump at a station on the 2900 block of North Main Street. Officers effected a reunion with a gas station attendant who found the wallet.

Residential burglary. Reported at 1:35 p.m., a woman reported to police that someone picked her lock to get into her residence on the 1600 block of North California Boulevard between 4:30 p.m. Saturday and 12:30 a.m. Sunday. Reported stolen was a DVD player, and a computer and computer bag.

It's all relative. There was a complaint on Burlington Court about a minivan with two suspicious men inside. Upon investigation, it proved to be relatives visiting from out of town.

Your message can wait. Officers cited a driver who was reported swerving across lanes on Ygnacio Valley Road and striking the curb at 1:26 p.m. Officers concluded it was a texting while driving problem.

Stolen Mercedes. Police were investigating the reported theft of a silver Mercedes C240 that reported happened between 11:30 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. in the 2900 block of North Main Street.

Counterfeit Franklins. During the afternoon, two businesses at Broadway Plaza reported the use of three counterfeit $100 bills to buy merchandise. Police are investigating. At one store, the suspects were described as two black women, aged approximately 30. One had her hair in a bun, wearing dark green denim. The other went by "Lisa," with long dark hair and a Gucci purse.

Big rigs. A city employee running a street sweeper reported repeat-offender big rigs that park in restricted areas on Shadelands Drive. They are issued tickets but don't move. Police are investigating.

Dry cleaning. Reported at 4 p.m., a man was seen rooting through a dry cleaning bag on the porch of a San Benito Drive residence. He was described as a white man with short, sandy hair, 5-foot-8, think, with a black coat and black pants. He was last seen in a tan Toyota Corolla on El Divisadero.

Three iPhones. Reported at 3:27 p.m., a man ran off from a store in the 1100 block of South Main Street with three iPhones. The man said he had a gun, an employee said. He was described as a black man, 6-foot-3, in his 40s, with a dark complexion, thin build and shaved head. He was wearing a light blue Cardinals baseball jersey and had a bloody finger, a witness said.
