Weight Loss & Health Optimization Camp Starting Soon in Walnut Creek

MDi Wellness Center in Walnut Creek is starting a Doctor-Supervised Weight Loss Camp on January 26

Are you struggling with your weight?

Have you tried diet and exercise, only to find yourself looking and feeling the same, year after year?

Weight loss is much more than trying to burn fat through diet and exercise. The biggest obstacle most people face is overcoming old thinking and behavioral patterns that stand in the way of health. Hormonal imbalances can be another, silent inhibitor of weight loss.

We offer doctor-supervised weight loss programs designed to help you achieve your healthy weight and keep it off for good.

There are two options available:

1. WEIGHT LOSS AND HEALTH OPTIMIZATION CAMP

This is a five (5) session health camp held at our center where participants attend once a week for five straight weeks. Sessions run about two hours. Camps are held on Tuesdays from 12:30 - 2:30 PM and Fridays from 4:00 - 6:00 PM.

There will be practical, hands-on lifestyle modification training in the following areas, which we have identified as the core essential factors for good health:

  • Mindset
  • Nutrition
  • Movement/Exercise
  • Stress Reduction/ Relaxation
  • Social Well Being


We will have several cooking demos on ways to cook healthy meals; grocery shopping guidelines, exercise and stretching classes (low level); moderated group discussions about common barriers to weight loss and their possible solutions; superfoods and higher level nutrition; and other lifestyle strategies that promote weight loss and optimal health.

COST: $500 per person, paid in advance.

Weekly follow-up consultations (30-45 min) are available for health camp graduates to assist them in reaching their ideal weight. These will be more focused and specific to the person’s particular case, and may involve supplement and/or medication recommendations and more tailored fitness programs. Cash rate $60.

2. TAKE SHAPE FOR LIFE (TSFL) HEALTH COACHING featuring MEDIFAST

This is the 5&1 Medifast meal replacement program combined with one-on-one health coaching, designed to help you safely lose weight and develop healthy lifestyle habits so that the weight stays off. It includes daily meals, access to free tele-conferences with TSFL nurses and doctors familiar with the program and access to online resources (support forums, weight tracker, meal tracker, etc). Average weight loss is 5 pounds per week the first two weeks; then 1.5-2 pounds a week thereafter.

You eat a combination of five (5) Medifast meals every 2-3 hours throughout the day, plus one “lean and green” meal you prepare yourself. Each Medifast meal has about 110 calories and the lean and green meal (a vegetable and protein) is limited to 350 calories. This creates a net caloric deficit which over time encourages your body to burn fat stores to make up the difference. Your health coach calls you once a week to check in, help you with technical parts of the program and offer support and encouragement.

The meals consist of soups, stews, snacks, puddings, shakes, bars, and drinks and come in a variety of tastes and textures. Some are ready to eat; some require adding water and heating on a stove. There are about 80 selections to choose from. If you find yourself too busy to prepare healthy, low calorie meals, this program might be right for you.

COST: $75 one-time fee for the program materials (books, DVDs, Personal Journal) and $339 every four weeks for the food, which is delivered to your home.
