11 Citations Issued For Illegal Fireworks In Watsonville
Police collected about 87 pounds of illegal fireworks this year.
WATSONVILLE, CA — Police in Watsonville issued 11 tickets and confiscated about 87 pounds of illegal fireworks last week. The fireworks will be separated from their packing and will be given to Cal Fire in Felton to be held as evidence until they are destroyed, according to a video posted by the Watsonville Police Department.
Cal Fire works with the California Fire Marshal's office to safely dispose of the fireworks. Police said they handled 770 calls for service during the fourth of July week and 118 of the calls were related to illegal fireworks.
