Watsonville Police Recover Guns, Drugs From Gang Members

They took off running after police spotted them with open beer containers, police said. Meth, heroin and prescription pills were found.

WATSONVILLE, CA — Three gang members with guns and drugs ran away from police Tuesday after officers spotted them with open beer cans, Watsonville police said.

Police recovered three guns, 126 grams of methamphetamine, 38 grams of heroin, prescription pills, drug paraphernalia and cash, police said.

Officers first spotted the group with open cans while patrolling near Main Street, police said. They ran as officers approached and tried to ditch their guns, which police later found after searching the area, police said.

Three people were arrested and booked into Santa Cruz County jail, police said.
