8 Injured In 3-Car Crash Near Santa Cruz County Fairgrounds: CHP

A three-vehicle crash occurred Sunday after a Porsche swerved into opposite-lane traffic.

WATSONVILLE, CA — Eight people were injured in a three-vehicle collision near the Santa Cruz County Fairgrounds Sunday afternoon, according to the California Highway Patrol.

CHP officer Alyssa Gutierrez told The Pajaronian that the incident began at about 4:15 p.m. Sunday, when a 2021 Porsche Cayenne traveling east swerved into the westbound lane on Highway 152 near Holohan Road. The Porsche collided with a 2006 Chevy Silverado, which then struck a 2016 Mazda CX5.

Gutierrez told The Pajaronian that six were taken to Natividad Medical Center in Salinas and two were taken to Watsonville Community Hospital, all with moderate injuries.

No arrests have been made. The incident remains under investigation.
