โ€ข PVUSD teachers ratify labor agreement (pajaronian.com) โ€” Teachers in Pajaro Valley Unified School District, which serves Watsonville, have overwhelmingly ratified a three-year contract that boosts salaries, preserves current health benefits, and adds classroom support. The deal now awaits final approval from the school board in October and would end nearly a year of tense negotiations that at one point had teachers preparing for a possible strike.

โ€ข 25 years later: Reflection and respect on Sept. 11 (pajaronian.com) โ€” Watsonville students at Moreland Notre Dame School honored local police and firefighters Friday in their annual First Responders Prayer Service marking the Sept. 11 anniversary. Nearby at Seacliff State Beach, Central Coast emergency workers, including a retired Watsonville fire captain, completed a demanding memorial stair climb to reflect on the sacrifices of 9/11 first responders and the strength of community support.
