Another Earthquake Hits Northern California Tuesday
The earthquake was reported in the South Bay at 12:42 p.m. Thursday marks the 30-year anniversary of the infamous Loma Prieta quake.
SAN BENITO COUNTY, CA — A magnitude 4.7 earthquake struck the South Bay on Tuesday afternoon, according to the United States Geological Survey.
Initially reported at 4.8, it hit 10 miles southeast of Tres Pinos in San Benito County at 12:42 p.m. At least one aftershock was recorded in the area.
The quake was felt across Santa Cruz County, Gilroy and as far away as Carmel. No injuries were reported as a result of Tuesday's temblor.

Tuesday's quake occurred hours after a 4.5 magnitude quake hit the Bay Area late Monday and just days before the 30-year anniversary of the infamous Loma Prieta earthquake.
