At least 21 Bay Area flights have been canceled because of weather conditions on the East Coast and in Texas today, while at least one other flight has been delayed, according to airport officials.

An incident at LaGuardia Airport in New York, in which Delta Air Lines Flight 1086 reportedly skidded off the runway, does not seem to be a factor.
“Due to weather back East, we have some cancellations,” San Francisco International Airport duty manager Brian Horne said.

So far, 12 SFO flights to and from John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York have been canceled, including 10 arrivals and two departures, according to Horne.
Three flights arriving from Newark, New Jersey, have been canceled, as well as two departures headed to that airport.
Two arrivals from Philadelphia International Airport have been canceled, as well as one departure going there, Horne said. He said the cancellations were not directly connected to the runway accident at LaGuardia.
“We have no direct impact because we don’t have any non-stops to New York LaGuardia,” Horne said. “There may be some impact due to connecting flights as other northeast airports are affected.”
“We’ll be monitoring it throughout the day,” he said.
At Mineta San Jose International Airport, spokeswoman Rosemary Barnes said an American Airlines outbound flight to Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport was canceled this morning because of weather conditions in Dallas.
A JetBlue Airways flight scheduled to arrive in San Jose from JFK at 10:13 p.m. is expected to be delayed by roughly 50 minutes, according to Barnes.
She anticipated that its departure back to the East Coast may also be affected.
So far, there haven’t been any weather-related cancellations or delays at Oakland International Airport, but spokesman Keoni Wagner said a JetBlue flight scheduled to arrive from JFK at 8:52 p.m. and depart at 9:43 p.m. may be impacted as the day progresses.
“At the moment it’s showing on schedule, but our ops people say that may change later in the day,” Wagner said.
Officials urged travelers to check their flight times and be aware of any delays or cancellations before going to the airport to avoid any inconvenience.
