PV title hopes end in Central Coast Section semifinals.

Willow Glen 2, Pajaro Valley 1

The Turning Point: With the score tied 1-1 and Pajaro Valley gaining a little momentum, junior forward Julio Morales scored a goal in the 14th minute of the first half that put a dagger into Pajaro Valley’s hopes of gaining control of the game.

The Quote: "I wish we could of held them at 1-1 at the half. The outcome could have been different." — Pajaro Valley coach Juan Roman said about his teams performance in the first half.  “Our defense gave up two big goals and defense is usually our thing. But all in all I am proud of my guys and I’m proud of the season. They gave a great effort both tonight and for the season.”

What's Next? Pajaro Valley exits the Central Coast Section playoff in the semi-finals, just one win shy of a CCS Division II title berth. The Grizzles finished the year with an impressive 15-4-1 record overall.

Bottom Line: Pajaro Valley is a good team that is only going to get better. Along with Watsonville and No. Monterey County, the Monterey Bay League will be tough at the top for many years to come. Willow Glen will play Burlingame in the finals on Saturday.
