Burglars Target Watsonville Jewelry Store
One suspect has been arrested but two are still being sought in connection with Thursday's burglary.
WATSONVILLE, CA — Fatima’s Fine Jewelry on Main Street was the target of a burglary this week, and police have made one arrest but two other suspects are still sought.
The burglary was reported early Thursday after a man wearing heavy clothing, gloves and a mask threw a large rock through the store's glass door to gain entrance and then used more rocks to smash display cases, according to Watsonville police.
About five minutes after the masked burglar left the scene, two other suspected thieves took advantage of the situation and made their way inside the store, police said. One of the suspects was identified as Jorge Garcia, 29, a Watsonville transient, who was arrested less than 24 hours later after police identified him from surveillance footage of the burglary.

Garcia was picked up in the CVS parking lot on Rodriguez Street shortly after 9 p.m. Thursday and booked into Santa Cruz County Jail for commercial burglary, according to Watsonville PD. He is also facing charges for a separate mid-August commercial burglary at a restaurant in the 600 block of Main Street, police said.
Police said they have identified the suspect who was with Garcia and are currently tracking that person. At this time, they don't have any leads on the masked burglar. Anyone with information is asked to call Detective Tyler Wildey at (831) 768-3356.
