Deputies Use Water Bottles To Fight Watsonville Fire

WATSONVILLE, CA β€” Santa Clara Sheriff's deputies working in Santa Cruz County on Monday used water bottles to help extinguish a fire until firefighters could arrive, the Watsonville Fire Department said.

Two deputies had just finished taking a call when they saw a cloud of white smoke, firefighters said. They went to check out the source and saw a bush had caught fire near a balcony where kids were playing.

Deputies called for firefighters and grabbed water bottles to help the fire fight until firefighters could arrive, firefighters said. They were able to make a significant dent in the blaze.
