An Open Mic is where people come together and perform and have fun, in an informal, mutually supportive environment.
Most play and sing. Some just play. Some play original material. Some don't. All levels are welcome, and all ages are welcome.
An Open Mic gives those who are looking to get performing experience the opportunity to go somewhere where it's OK to be a newbie. For the more experienced players, it's a chance to try out new material, brush up on old stuff, and stay sharp.
