Barbara Chamberlain began to write A Slice of Carmel when
she was a librarian at Harrison Memorial Library in Carmel. Barbara was also the librarian at Bradley School in Corralitos for thrity years. The series heronine is Jaden Steele, who buys a cutlery store in the village. She is a prime suspect when her lover is murdered with a knife from her store. Jaden and her friend, Bobbi Jones, work to solve the mystery.
Steinbeck lecturer Audrey Lynch writes that "I did not suspect the real murderer until the very last few pages when the heronine almost lost her life solving it...You will get to know Jaden against the unique Carmel backdrop that is almost a character in the novel."

Barbara will be signing copies of her book and talking about writing the mystery Dec. 16 at Crossroads books.
She is currently the president of the Northern California Pen Women and a past president of Cabrillo Host Lions.
