Reportedly taken in the crime: a golf range finder valued at $350.
Monterey County sheriff’s deputies arrested two suspects Saturday after the suspects allegedly tried to rob four golfers at a Pebble Beach golf course.
At 5:30 p.m., the two suspects accosted the golfers at The Links at Spanish Bay, located at 2700 17 Mile Drive, demanding money from them, according to sheriff’s officials.
One of the victims fought with the suspects and received a minor cut to his ear, sheriff’s officials said. One of the suspects took a golf range finder, worth about $350, from one of the victims, according to sheriff’s deputies.

The stolen golf range finder was found inside the suspects’ vehicle, but sheriff’s deputies could not recover the knife the witness had reported seeing, according to sheriff’s officials.
Sheriff’s deputies have identified one of the suspects as Aurelio Bautista, 18, of Greenfield. Sheriff’s deputies said the other suspect arrested is a 15-year-old whose name is not being released because he is a juvenile.
Deputies took Bautista to Monterey County Jail and the juvenile was taken to the Monterey County Juvenile Hall, sheriff’s officials said.
