Granite Construction Company will be reconstructing Freedom Boulevard, between Broadis Street and Alta Vista Avenue. The project will include installing curb ramps, improving sidewalks (where needed), reconstructing the roadway pavement, and improving a bus stop north of Crestview Avenue. Construction is expected to start Monday, August 29, 2016, and will take about four months.Freedom Blvd is one of the busiest streets in town. Road reconstruction is needed to address the poor pavement condition and, the reality is, that traffic will be impacted during construction. City and Contractor staff will work as a project team to find ways to minimize impacts to businesses and the traveling public.

During construction activities, sections of the roadway and sidewalks will be closed periodically. However, the project plan includes maintaining pedestrian and vehicle access through project limits at all times with at least one side of the road open for travel in both directions.
