Gas Station Beer Cooler Back Up For Consideration

Main Street American Fuels will make a final appeal to Watsonville City Council to add alcohol sales to the convenience store.

The Watsonville City Council will take on a couple of issues Tuesday evening that can impact the daily lives of city residents.

First, will appeal a June ruling that denied the gas station a beer cooler inside the convenience store. Owner Ron Ince has spent nearly 15 years positioning himself and his shop to sell alcohol, a change he has said will make his business more competitive and also increase city tax revenue.

After the gas station beer sales question, the council will turn its attention to downtown parking to reassess the various time limits at city-owned parking lots.
