Head To Scotts Valley Next Week For Free Treats From New Rita's Italian Ice

Rita’s Italian Ice, an ”Italian Ice” concept shop, will begin scooping ice on Monday, April 27 from its newest location in Scotts Valley, AND will celebrate by giving away free Italian Ice to all area residents who stop by on both April 27 and 28!

Rita’s of Scotts Valley, located in the Kings Village Shopping Center at 222-K Mount Hermon Road is the first of three initial stores planned by franchisee and local high school softball coach Lisa Rasmussen.

“After trying Rita’s for the first time last year on the East Coast, I became an instant fan and knew nothing like it existed in Northern California,” said Rasmussen. “With three locations in the works, we’re excited to introduce the Scotts Valley community to ‘ice, custard and happiness’ and have them fall in love with the brand just like I did.”

Although Scotts Valley will be her only store opening in 2015, Rasmussen plans to continue to expand to a total of three locations in the Santa Cruz County and Salinas area in the future.

This new location marks the beginning of a large-scale expansion in Northern California for the ice concept with a total of 150 new stores planned by area developers East Bay Ice Empire and San Francisco Ice Empire, company officials said.

Rita’s of Scotts Valley will also celebrate its grand opening celebration in May by giving away free Rita’s Italian Ice for a year to 25 guests who come into the store that day. Stay tuned for more on that.
