Homicide Investigators Seek Info, Witnesses To Shooting Near Watsonville
A man was found dead today in a parking lot in the Pajaro area.

Monterey County sheriff’s officials are investigating the homicide of a man found shot to death early this morning in a parking lot in the unincorporated area of Pajaro just south of Watsonville.
At 1:40 a.m., a motorist flagged down deputies and reported seeing a male lying in the parking lot of a business at the intersection of Salinas Road and Fremont Street, sheriff’s Sgt. Terry Kaiser said.
Deputies located the man, who was dead and appeared to have been shot, Kaiser said.

The homicide remains under investigation and deputies are not releasing the victim’s name until his family members are notified, Kaiser said.
Sheriff’s officials are asking anyone who traveled through the area of the intersection between midnight and 2 a.m. today and who saw any activity there to call Kaiser or sheriff’s Investigator Brett Speirs at (831) 755-3772 or an anonymous tip line at (888) 833-4847.
