Kids Behind Laser Strikes On Pilots At Watsonville Airport
Investigators tracked the laser strikes to kids who thought it would be funny to aim a laser at airplanes, police said.

WATSONVILLE, CA — Watsonville Police Department investigators determined a group of kids was behind a recent string of incidents in which Watsonville Municipal Airport pilots reported they were targeted by lasers while in flight. The kids thought it would be funny, police said.
Officers had a long conversation with the kids and their parents, and are trying to get the kids involved in youth programs to keep them busy.
"The kids quickly realized the severity of their actions and apologized," police said.
