Kids Score Basketballs Thanks To Cop’s Bet Against Warriors
The Watsonville officer handed out the new basketballs in order to redeem himself with Bay Area basketball fans.

WATSONVILLE, CA — A handful of children in Watsonville scored new basketballs after a police officer made a bad bet against the Warriors. Misguided Houston Rockets fan Officer Aaron Chavarria bet Officer Charles Johnson that the Warriors would lose last weekend, police said. The Warriors are once again in the NBA Finals and Chavarria had to make good on his bet.
Police said Chavarria visited children around town this week and handed out the new basketballs in order to redeem himself with the Bay Area basketball fans.
“We're happy that some lucky kids got to benefit from Ofc. Chavarria's unwise bet! Go Warriors!”
