Letter to the Editor: Thanking Police Officers

The WPD annual inspection was a special event, and reminds us how much officers put on the line every day.

By Bill Neighbors, Watsonville Police Volunteer

On August 29 my wife and I attended the and I have to say it was the one of best events that I have ever attended. The guest speaker Santa Barbara Police Chief Cam Sanchez was breathtaking. I looked around while he was speaking and everyone was focus on him, you could hear a pin drop. Police Chief Manny Solano and Deputy Police Chief Robert Knill acknowledged several local businesses for their community support and gave awards to numerous officers.

It was shocking to hear how many guns and knives that were taken off the street. It is too bad that everyone in Watsonville did not hear what these officers are going through every day. Our police officers put their lives on the line day after day. This week . I want to thank each and every police officer out there for making our community safe.
