Man Arrested For Allegedly Stealing Mustang From Watsonville Dealership

A dealership employee actually spotted the 26-year-old suspect cruising around in the stolen car, police said. [Breaking]

SANTA CRUZ COUNTY, CA – A man was arrested Monday morning after allegedly stealing a vehicle from a car dealership in Watsonville, according to police.

Police said employees at Mid Bay Ford located at 550 Auto Center Drive noticed a new Ford Mustang was missing from their inventory on Sunday.

Just before 10:30 a.m. Monday, an employee noticed the vehicle being driven on Walker Street near Ford Street and contacted authorities.

Officers in the area were able to locate the stolen vehicle and pulled it over. The driver, 26-year-old Trent Maielua, was arrested without incident and was taken to Santa Cruz County Jail on suspicion of vehicle
theft.
