Man Arrested Following Watsonville Pursuit: WPD

WATSONVILLE, CA — A wanted felon was arrested following a pursuit through Watsonville this afternoon, police said. Officers saw 33-year-old Loreto Arizpe, who was wanted in two counties for being a felon in possession of a firearm, and tried to stop him.

Police said Arizpe refused to stop and eventually lost control of his SUV, causing him to hit several cars parked near Manresa‬ State Beach. Arizpe, who is a known gang member, ran from his vehicle and was captured by a police canine officer, according to police.

Authorities said they believe he may be connected to numerous robberies in Santa Cruz County.
