Missing California Cat Ends Up In Canada

BooBoo, who was missing for four years and presumed dead, suddenly showed up in a Canadian shelter. Her owners want to bring her home.

WATSONVILLE, CA — A Watsonville cat missing since 2013 miraculously showed up more than 2,600 miles away from home at a Canadian humane society earlier this month. According to a GoFundMe page established to bring the traveling tabby home, owner Ashley Aleman said she got a call from the Guelph Humane Society after someone dropped off her beloved cat. The information on BooBoo ’s microchip led shelter officials to Aleman.

Aleman, who was in shock at the news about her favorite feline, immediately created a GoFundMe page to help pay to bring BooBoo home. According to the page, Aleman thought BooBoo had likely fallen victim to wild animals in the area and did not expect to see her again.

The page, which was started on March 20, has garnered more than $1,500. Click here to donate.

BooBoo will never be able tell how she ended up on her amazing Canadian adventure, but she is not the first California kitty to take a long road trip. In 2012, a naughty Dublin cat was discovered living it up in Reno, Nevada, after hitching a ride with neighbors.
