Monsbey College Celebrates Student Excellence

The Watsonville technical school opened in 2008 and produces skilled health care workers.

The Annual Day Celebrations of Monsbey College, a Watsonville technical school, was Saturday afternoon. The colorful event was conducted with alumni, students, friends, family, faculty and college officials at the Ramsay Park Family Center. Annual Day Celebrations, a yearly tradition of honoring students for excellence in their respective academic fields has been held since the school started four years ago.

College Vice-President Binumol M. Skariapresided over the ceremony. College Instructor Zenaida Wood served as the mistress of ceremonies. Students marched to the stage with candles and took an oath. Monsbey College's President Koshy M. Skaria officially welcomed everybody for this event. He congratulated students and family in their success, and thanked the Watsonville city administration and the community for the support they have given the college. Watsonville City Mayor Eduardo Montesino and Pacific Coast Manor Director of Nursing Terry Jones were chief guests for the function.

Montesino thanked the college and graduates for making a difference in the community, and Terry reiterated the graduates and students how noble their jobs are.

Then, Montesino presented the certificates to students and graduates. Student representative Beverly Will explains how the students enjoy the concepts and ideals of Monsbey College.

The festivities were capped with a music presentation by up-and-coming musician Jose and dance performance by children Monsbey Alumni, called the Monsbey Dancers. There was a big raffle at the end of the ceremony.

Also the college is committed to address California’s critical shortage of skilled health care professionals. Monsbey is looking forward to create and offer the best training programs well-suited for the people in the community.

Monsbey College specializes in fast, affordable training in high demand Health Care Careers, such as Certified Nursing Assistant, Home Health Aide, Pharmacy Technician, Clinical Medical Assistant, EKG Technician, NCLEX Exam preparation and CPR and First Aid. All in a friendly, supportive, small classroom environment. Classes are offered day, evening and weekends. Monsbey College's goal is to work in partnership with other educational institutions and human service agencies, assisting clients in the pursuit of rewarding careers and further opportunities.
