Motorcyclist Dies In Monterey County Crash
A man was riding a 2016 Yamaha motorcycle on eastbound Highway 68.

MONTEREY COUNTY, CA -- A motorcyclist died after crashing into a center barrier on state Highway 68 in Monterey on Saturday evening, according to the California Highway Patrol.
A man was riding a 2016 Yamaha motorcycle on eastbound Highway 68 in unincorporated Monterey County at 5:37 p.m. when he lost control of the vehicle, CHP officials said.
The driver hit the freeway's center attenuator, or safety barrier, near the Fremont Street over-crossing and came to a rest near the center divider.

He suffered major injuries and was taken to a hospital after receiving aid from first responders. He died at the hospital at 6:27 p.m., according to the CHP.
Officers said drugs and alcohol are not believed to be factors in the fatal crash. The Monterey County coroner's office will release his identity once family members are notified.
