General Municipal Election

• General Municipal Election will be held November 8, 2016 for Council Districts 1, 2, and 6.
• Nomination period for these seats opened July 18 and closes Friday, August 12, 2016 at 5:00 p.m.
• If you choose to submit a candidate statement to be placed in the official sample ballot, there is a fee due based on current registration figures provided by the Santa Cruz County Elections Department, payable to the County of Santa Cruz, Elections Department.
  • District 1 – $189.00
  • District 2 – $191.00
  • District 6 – $203.00
• PLEASE CALL 831-768-3040 to make an appointment to pull nomination papers.
• Nomination period will be extended if the incumbent does not file by August 17, 2016.
• Candidates elected will take office the first meeting in December OR once the election results are certified.
