Pedestrian Suffers Critical Injuries After Being Struck By Watsonville Trash Truck

BREAKING: Witnesses said the man ran into the path of the truck.

WATSONVILLE, CA — A 35-year-old man was seriously injured on Thursday when he ran into traffic at the intersection of Freedom Boulevard and Green Valley Road and was struck by a garbage truck, Watsonville police said. The collision happened at 9:19 a.m. when witnesses say the man ran into the path of the truck, which was traveling southbound on Freedom Boulevard, according to police.

The intersection was closed for several hours as police investigated the collision. Police don't believe drugs or alcohol to be a factor. As of Friday morning, the pedestrian remains in critical condition at a Bay Area trauma center.
